Because pitchers are used to throwing to right handed catchers. There are small advantages in fielding by being right-handed, but it basically comes down to not wanting to mess with pitchers' mechanics by changing, even slightly, the target they're throwing to.

Ah the same reason why i personally think all infielders should be right handed. You see, a catcher must beable to throw out runners at first second and third base. Lets compare the throw from a right hander to a left hander.
1st base - First of all, a runner on first base isnt in scoring position. So therefore picking him off from home plate isnt that big of a deal and rarely happens. A left handed catcher would have the advantage over a righty because its more of an easy throw for a left hander coming across his body, whereas a righty would have to throw with less arm speed, off of his back foot.
2nd base - Here you have no advantage whether you are a righty or lefty, the throw basically depends on how good your catcher is.
3rd base - This is the closest base to home and you never want a runner to steal third on you so this is where having a right handed catcher comes into play. a righty can natuarlly make an easier, harder throw to third by throwing accross his body. a lefty would have to throw off his back foot and its just not a good throwing position.

In my opinion, its ok to have a lefty catcher if you are playing little league or pee wees. And i suppose if your high school team is pretty dominant you could use one there too. But in Pro baseball, there is no room for someone who cant throw out a runner at third base.

Because the majority of the hitters are right handed and with a lefty throwing catcher, most of his throws to second base have to go around/through a hitter in his way

The answer Scott T. gave is the main reason there are no southpaw catchers.

There's none in the minors either. I think Dale Long was the last
one but only a couple of games.
