Administrators can configure the routing system and gateway server to log all the websites and its contents... You are on mercy of your administrator...

Basically don't go to any sites that are considered malicious or may get you in trouble. I work in IT and we don't have a problem with people doing online banking, news,e-mail, etc. but gambling sites, ****, extremists type sites we block with web sense.

If your network allows you to roam freely, I would recommend not visiting these sites on company time. Everything will hit the proxy server, then if it's not stored there it will call out to dns to get you to that site you are requesting. Either way, we have a log of your activity. You can delete cache, temp files, history all day...doesn't matter...we got it in a log.

It actually depends on where your companies security areas are most important and would jeopardize the companies integrity. Your company may have a 24 hour log set up, but I doubt anybody is going through it to check...and if they do, they don't have the time to raise hell about it unless it's malicious.

If you are doing your business, even personal, we don't really care. Your not drawing attention basically. It's the person who thinks he can exploit or blatently maneuver around our security that we focus on the most (people trying to bypass our proxy).

By clearing the `search history' you are only flushing your browser's cached pages.. not those on the server (if you are connected via a LAN).. only the system admin can do that

not just 24 hrs, it could stay there for years, or centuries!!
the server clears its memory at random. some messages are permanently deleted the moment u hit [Del], some stay for decades
only the system adm. can delete this

be careful where you surf at work. Your administrator may record all activity indefinately and may even do packet sniffing that can record everything you do on the network. If this is so you cannot avoid it. be careful where you surf at work.
