It sounds like the pedestrian was completely oblivious to what was going on. The Pedestrian is always in the right though. One of the responsibilities that we have as drivers is to watch out for the other person and make an intelligent decision.

puma has it. Pedestrians have the right of way even when they're walking against the light. Once they step one foot off of the curb they're in your world and you have to watch out for them.

well if he didn't start walking until after you moved, i would say he was wrong... of course i am sure somebody could argue the other way... but i really hate it when people wait for you to move then walk.

i don't understand, how did your back wheel catch his foot if he was walking in front of you? Where you driving backward? In that case, it was your fault.
