ummm.... I'm pretty sure it's not a sexual thing....
they just hand out, sleepover, and sometime he will hang out with the kids other 14 year old friends too. they even get together and play poker.
sometimes the 22 year old would even neglect his girlfriend for this kid.

No, it's defintely not normal. That's an eight year age difference, which would be fine if it were a 32 year old man hanging with a 40 year old man, because they're both mature men. This particular age gap is creepy as hell. Not to be accusatory, but it could be a Michael Jackson situation. If he's molesting or not molesting, it just isn't right. Either way, the older guy has serious problems. How do the 14 year old boys parents feel about this. I would cringe at the thought of my 14 year old son (if I had a child) hanging out with a grown man.

Here are some ideas: * Take out some fun games... can never go wrong with Twister. * Junk food... sleepovers are meant to be fun & a time to not care what one eats so let them have some chips, chocolate, etc. * Also rent some movies... some scary ones, yet let the last movie they'll see be a funny one so they don't have any nightmares. * Karaoke... put on some of their favourite music that they can sing to. Those are some of the things I did when younger... with luck she'll have fun. ^_^

depends...is the guy the father or an uncle or a brother?

Um...otherwise. NO. There is nothing wrong with a man and a boy having a relationship (mentor/mentee), but to have sleepovers...No.

Do a background check. Supervise (always), feel free to tell the man to leave...it is okay to be rudeto keep your children safe.
especially if the man is pretty insistant on "alone-time"

Defanately not normal

I don't know there is suh a big age gap I mean 9 years? that is really big age gap. I don't know... I think they can still hang out just not like sleepovers and such. I don't know that just seams kind of off. sorry it is just how I feel. and to answer your question in the first place, I don't think it is normal and I would not do it.

No. Not normal. Does it happen? Yes. Should it be carefully monitored? Yes. Is he a big brother, like in those programs? Why doesn't he hang out with people his own age? Keep an eye on it.

The older guy could just be stunted in emotional growth. If something traumatic happened when he was younger that can sometimes cause a person to stop maturing right where they are. I would watch it, but not panic at this point.

What could a 22 year old want with a 14 year old boy? I'd be watching those two VERY closely!
