If I'm build a website using Geocities, what do I do so that anyone who does a search can find my page online?

Make a page with links to similar websites, once you have done that you can request them to link back to you... Once that is done, you can promote your website with the leading search engines, using their online form.. remember.. your website needs to have rich and popular content too :)
