I have a friend here in town that just so happens to be a fine regular here on Answers as well: Monitorhead's Dyson.

I wish everyone on here knew him as I know him. But we all know that 'showing' our true selves isn't always easy. On here he is this hilarious layed back guy with such a humorous fun nature. Oh sure.... his depth truly shows in many of his serious answers on here. And if you delve really deep you can see that his judgement on things is revealed more clearly than I think he even realizes he shows.

I think Monitor and I hit it off immediately because we "got" one another right off the bat. Our values, beliefs, approaches were both so similar. When you can say"hello" and the person immediately can "read" your mood, you know they "know" you. He has guided me in so many situations that otherwise I know I would have entered into and fallen flat on my face. He is my greatest cheerleader, my wisest friend, my dearest comrade. He has a heart that is larger than anyone's I've ever met. He truly wants to see everyone happy and everyone content. But he isn't afraid to deliver the truth even at the risk of causing a little frustration IF he knows it is for my own good. That's a true friend.... someone that will tell it like it is! Because of this... my trust for Monitor is so much greater than it is for most anyone else in my life. To find someone that can be so brutally honest, yet always do so with my best interest at heart, I know I can trust them. He has held my hand and led me places I so didn't want to go. But he did so knowing it was what I needed. I would completely trust him..... I would blindly follow him...... I would never worry that any harm would come to me. If harm were to enter my path, I have no doubt he'd be right there fighting it off with his wisdom.

Thank you Monitor......for being that kind of friend to me, to so many others, and to so many that I hope read this and seek you out just to find a friendship that will beat anything they've ever had before!

I trust my friends, but I trust my own judgment more. I won't follow anyone blindly. Don't get me wrong, I am fiercely loyal and will put myself on the line for my closest friends. But blind obedience is not what they expect from me, and frankly if I rushed in blindly, I would be letting them down. My friends respect my intellect, and any significant undertaking would require that we collaborate.

Anybody that I consider a true
honest to goodness friend.
Right now I can think of nine
people. Two women, four men,
a sister and a daughter and son.

I have a lot of 'acquaintances' - to
them I would just wave bye bye
and say, "Be careful, have a good time!"

I have a select few: My friend Ken, who is like an older brother to me, Ron, who is a second father to me, and a newer friend of mine that I'll just call Carrots for now. She is a twin, and I trust her implicitly.

One of my character flaws I guess, but I don't blindly follow anybody.
