I was thinking of making a website that allows users to review our local pubs (abit like dooyoo or ciao but at a local level).

If people give a pub a bad review the pub obviously isnt going to like it.

Is there any legal implications I should be aware of in letting people do this? As it is there opnion and not the opinion of the website.

Could I get into trouble?

Provided you make it clear that all comments are owned by whoever submitted them, and not you, and anything you write isn't libellous, you should be OK.

Would be an idea to moderate any comments, though, so that anything clearly false and defamatory can be removed or doesn't get published in the first place.

There should be no problems at all (unless the pub owner tries to physically assault you with the help of bullies).. Individual opinion and freedom of speech allows this.. so no problems.. many newspapers are publishing independent reviews.. and if they can do it, why cant you :)
