they are both good.but if you get a HP don't get the cheapest one because they don't keep the pages strate after you print about 20 at a time and cannon is the same way.if you don't care about the way the pages look or if you arn't going to be doing alot of printing at one time than get HP.they have been the best printer i have had.i have had cannon, lexmark, epson,HP,compaq, brother.i have had lazer printers by HP,brother, lexmark, cannon and the best one has been HP aslong as you don't do alot of printing at one time if you do alot of printing at one time get brother and don't be afrade to spend a little mor don't settle for the cheapest one.

In my experience, Lexmarks don't last very long. Canon does really well using Canon ink (which are usually inexpensive). A Canon all-in-one printer/scanners are not much more than a regular printer. HP has good images but goes through ink fast. Samsung now makes a color LASER printer for $299, don't know how much toner is though.

HP Monochrome (black and white) laser can't be beat. Right now, Best Buy has an HP monochrome printer on sale for $129. It's the HP 1018 or 1020. Both these printers are great.

HP might not be the best computer, but they do make very, very good printers, I would choose HP.
