Tell him the truth. I picked my four girls names and my fifth was a boy but my husband wanted to pick James Dean and I didn't like it so we sat down together and wrote a list of names that we each liked and went through the lists and narrowed it down to Luke Anthony, Daniel James or Jason ?? On the day I was going in to the hospital to have a c-section my husband asked me to pick. I didn't want to because I felt he had a right to pick one name out of five. But he insisted that I pick & I told him to wait until we see the baby but he wanted a name picked before our baby was born. I ended up having to pick the name because he couldn't decide and chose Luke Anthony. Luke was the name we had picked out when I was pregnant with our first child and Anthony being my husbands middle name. Just let your boyfriend know how you feel and maybe you can compromise and use the name he likes as a middle name.

Tell him why you don't like that name and ask for a list to choose from. Try not to hurt his feelings. OR try the name out for a while. Is the name Benji of Benjamin? It could be Ben. It might not be so bad. Benjamin is a good name. It worked for Benjamin Frankiln. Try to compromise.

I'm sorry. I don't like the name either. It just sounds weird. You need to let him know that you don't like the name. Naming a kid isn't like naming a dog. Act like he must be joking and tell him to pick out a KIDS name not a DOGS name. Good luck with this, I am sure things will improve!

Tell him he needs to come up with more than just 1 name to choose from and that the name needs to be something you both like. It shouldn't be him that picks the boy name and you that picks the girl name. It should be a joint decision.

just because you're the girl and he's the boy doesn't mean you should name the girl and he should name the boy, you'll BOTH be the parents to these kids so you should BOTH name then TOGETHER. have you told him yet that you don't like the name? don't be to negative about it, just explain to him why you don't like it and try coming up with a name together. if worse comes to worse...the hospital asks you, not him for the baby's name and you, not him have to write it on the paper. it's mean, but you really do have the last word on baby's name. my mom told my dad that my brother's name was going to be one thing (i can't remember now what it was) but they had it planned right from the get go and when she had him they asked her what his name was and she told him he was a Jr. my dad was surprised but like having his son named after him.

My husband and i first said if it is a boy then he could name him but if it were a girl i would name her but you know after i laid in the pain of having my son (hard labor and a c-section) i thought and still do--i was entitled to name our son and i did just that.
I think of it like that if you are the one that is going threw the pain of having a baby then you should get to name him/her whatever.
My husband wanted to name our son Ozzy but i named him Julian
Anyhow just tell him that name reminds you of a dog, i never had a problem in telling my husband what i thought about his names he came up with.
In the end, our son is 5 now and he is happy that i named him what i did instead of what he wanted.
do what YOU want
Good luck and congrats

First of all before you say you do not like the name benji you need to see if it is a family name of his or he is naming it after someone. If not then try to name it after someone special to him. My first daughter is Amelia Lynn - Lynn is my wifes and her moms middle name. my youngest is Abigail Marcella- Marcella is named after MY grandma, and if we have a boy with the one were expecting now than his middle name will be William after my grandfather, Try to find a name to pass down, not just one that sounds good.
GOOD LUCK,

One way that might work is if you tell him that you have a coworker or someone who has a child with that name already and see if it makes him change his mind.
