every time I see a child abuse case on the news, when a white person does it, it's an irish, english or scottish man. I never hear about other kinds of white ppl doing it, like german, norwegian, italian, russian, etc. Is it b/c they drink a lot and can't tolerate alcohol as well as other ppl?

DISCLAIMER:
I am NOT saying ALL irish ppl hit their kids and wifes. just out of the ones that do.

As a mandated reporter ...one who is trained in recognizing abuse and identifying potential child abuse cases ... I can tell you that nothing could be further from the truth.

Child abuse crosses all ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. Abuse rears its ugly head in many forms: neglect, abandonment, assault, sexual molestation, failure to thrive and failure to protect.

There is a broad spectrum of injuries caused by trauma, whether abusive or accidental. There are instances of natural pigmentation masquerading as injury, and folk medicine producing injury during course of treatment.

The causes of abuse are many and varied. Some try to explain it away by prior abuse by their parents, or by alcohol and drugs, or by frustration and overwork. Whatever the reason ... there is NO EXCUSE for child abuse. And yet, it afflicts every society on earth.

For the life of me, I can not understand why it is tolerated. I believe Oprah has the right idea .. she is offering ONE MILLION dollars for anyone that turns in an abuser . Let's get going folks!

Your facts are not accurate if you google the information you claim. But since America is an anglo dominated country, you might find an over representation of this in the media. I work in the mental health field in new york city and i promise you, domestic violence is an equal opportunity disease

I would find that rather hard to believe. It could be that the German, Norwegian, Italian etc news services don't report this sort of crime as diligantly.

You are very misinformed ... abuse (any kind, sexual, mental, physical) happens in all walks of life, any race and nationality.
