tell your mom that you have to be who you are and if she loves you she will accept you even if she does not agree with your choices.

There isn't really anything you can do until they want to accept it. I know that my relationship was not accepted until I went through the heartache of breaking up with her and everyone saw how bad I was. I also think the amount of time we have been going out also makes them aware that I'm not going through a phase.
How much is your girlfriend willing to stand by you? I know that my girl and I went through all of this stuff when I was coming out and it made our relationship a lot stronger because we had to rely on each other so quickly.
I think generally it just takes time. If your girlfriend wants to be with you she will stay around. If it's to hard for her maybe try to be with her again later. If she doesn't ever want to try again then is that really what you want?

Maybe she is embarrassed of what people might think of HER. Maybe she doesnt want people saying bad things about you to her because she doesnt know how to handle it.
You mom might be upset now, but there's no way she will dis-own you for making your own choices in life. Just tell her to look at it this way, "Atleast your not on drugs laying in a ditch somewhere all strung out and waiting on your next dose of heroin". It may take awhile for her to adjust to the fact that her little girl is a lesbian, but she will eventually get used to it.
She probably had some preconcieved image of you being with the high school football quarter back, and pictured you going to the prom with him, getting married, having children the traditional way, and all the wonderful things that Moms dream about for their little girls> Now she just has to start all over again and create herself some new dreams for ya.
