Cats can carry a parasitic infection called toxoplasmosis that can hurt an unborn baby, but that doesn't mean you have to get rid of your cat.
It means you shouldn't change the litter box or garden without gloves in case your cat--or a neighbor's cat--has been doing its business in the garden.
Dogs do not carry this infection.
BTW The infection does not make you sterile or prevent you from having kids. What it CAN do is cause neurological damage to an unborn baby IF you contract the illness while pregnant.
Many people get it (before they are pregnant) and get over it without even knowing it. If you had it before you were pregnant you cannot get it again and your baby will be fine.
Hope this helps.

It's called toxoplasmosis. It generally isn't a problem for indoor cats who don't eat things they catch or raw meats. I've never heard of dogs carrying it. Humans are more likely to catch it from eating under cooked meat than from cat feces.

Yes sure , it is like a tiny organism who lives in the cat's hair , it transfers to the pregnant wonam's body , there is something called HR in the woman's body , it should be like the baby's whether HR- or HR+ , the cat's infection causes probelms with that point what causes the baby's death directly after giving birth, my sis was pregnant and we got rid of the cat because her dr asked her to , so plz I recommend you have a consultance.

I can't remember what its called, but yes it there is. :( But from what I was told from a vet, if you've grown up with cats your whole life, the risk isn't as big. So I guess it pays having cats my whole life :))

NO. AND ITS NOT THE CATS, ITS THEIR FECES. IT S A BLOOD DISORDER THAT YOU CAN TRANSMIT TO A FETUS. IT DOESN'T PREVENT A BABY.
