white cross in red circle, on my lower menu bar, all sites.?

Appeared after trying explorer upgrade. I am trying to download avg v7.5

It is a virus.. but do not worry.. follow the instructions in the link given below.. that should help you to get rid of the same

i have that, it is a wireless connection. click on it and see what it says.if i hover my mouse over it , it says " not connected, right-click for more options " is this what yours says ?
