So far, he's overrated, because as you so deftly pointed out, he hasn't done anything yet. I saw him a few times in person though and my impression is this: He plays like he doesn't care for much of the game, but then when he feels like it, he'll explode and just be phenomenal. What I take from this impression is that when Michael Jordan played basketball he was strictly business and he played with intensity for the entire game. He did not take plays off. LeBron sometimes does, and to me he won't truly be great until he plays to his potential for every second he's out on the court.

Michael Jordan took seven years to win an NBA ring. Lebron is in his fourth year. If the draft was rigged Cleveland would have never have received the first pick in the draft. After all, whwn the Browns came back to Cleveland, the NFL gave us 6 months to put together a franchise as opposed to three years for the Carolina Panthers.
Back to Lerbron-when Larry Hughes stays healthy for a full year we will see how far the Cavaliers go. Jordan had Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman to help. Lebron is not only a prolific scorer, but he also distributes the ball to his teammates better than any player his size since Magic Johnson. His defense needs improvement, and his free throw shooting is only about 72%, too low for a superstar who doesn't play center. Comparing Vince Carte to Lebron is a joke. Vince Carter could NEVER pass the ball as well as James. It is Lebrons' court awareness, the ability to see plays develop better than anyone with the possible exception of Steve Nash that separates him from the rest of the league. Remember, Jordan won nothing without Pippen. Lebron needs Larry Hughes to produce.

He's not overrated, he's young. Remember this kid is younger than most athletes when they are rookies. He hasn't had much time to adjust and learn. He is growing every year and his stats and winning percentages reflect that.
But more importantly it took Jordan 6 or 7 years to win his first championship. Early in his career they struggled under Doug Collins and were always second best to the Detroit Pistons. It wasn't until he matured physically and mentally, was surrounded by teammates that complimented him well (ie Scottie Pippen) and finally had a coach to blend everything together.
Remember a peanut butter and "jelly" sandwhich without the jelly is still ONLY a peanut butter sandwhich. You need both ingredients!

LeBron James is amazing, when people acknowledge that you automatically assume he's overrated, his stats are in the same leauge with Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertsen, if LeBron was playing with the cast Jordan had he would have won the championship

Do you remember how long it took the best to get his first ring in Chicago. LeBron has done more than most have ever done in this short length of time. He is everything he's made out to be, and will be much more. He can do anything on the court.

Lebron James is not overrated by a longshot. once he gets players around him he will win a championship. he will win mulitiple chamipionships and multiple mvps because he is amazing, if you watch him play, just his style, the way he goes about shooting, its amazing. he is not overrated, and give him some slack, it isnt like he has been in the league 10 years

You have a lot of good points, i think he is definetly overrated personally, but if he wants to be truely great, he should learn the fundelmentals of the game of basketball, thats what makes Charles Barkely, Bill Walton, Oscar Robertson and Mj so great, so theres my answer to da whole thing and the NBA should focus on more players after they they become great.

Nope. LBJ ain't overrated and sure ain't JESUS. The draft wasn't rigged, and he ain't no VC rehash. He ain't unproven, and we won't see what you are talking about, and no LBJ ain't gonna backfire. Maybe you should open your eyes and see whats goin' on. Wait you can't, bcuz your head is in the big fat keg of HATERADE!!!
