For the longest time I didn't want to read the Harry Potter books because I grew up with comic books and when it comes to magic or super human powers I want my main characters to have the know how right off the bat. I saw the first movie, because I like movies and my reaction was "If I were 15 years old I would love it." but I was early 20-something and I could see it was a decent movie but, didn't really move me.
I saw the second film and felt the same way.
Then the 3rd film was released and I was blown away. There was actual danger in The Prisoner of Azkaban! Harry totally came into understanding his powers and Hermione is pushing the limits of her knowledge as well. Ron is and will always remain Ron. Prisoner, is the turning point from a young adult book to a dark more adult read. All in all with each year Harry grows older and wiser and more daring the books get better.

my favorite book was the goblet of fire...but after book 6 came out...oooh that one was goood. i loved how it told the back story of voldem- he who must not be named...and it made him more human and also how he became...well he seemed always to be evil..but more evil.
and none of the movies have been good. sorry to say. i like only snippet parts of the movies. they are sadly very overrated in comparison to the books. and i realize they will never be as good..but at least do more justice to them. they leave half the plot out and put in retarded scenes taht are way too long. i want more magic to come back to the movies.
