The 60s was the decade of the race to the moon, the Vietnam War, civil rights marches, Martin Luther King, the assassination of President Kennedy, The Beatles, the landing on the moon, the Cuban Missile Crisis.. Those are just some events that describe the 60s. I'm not very artsy myself, but perhaps a collage of pictures directing these and or other events of the decade would work.

A simple solution would be to create a collage of images from the 60's. You could use pictures of important events such as the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, hippies, drugs, JFK assassination, etc.
