One week I could not get out of bed, the world was spinning.

I had a horribly infected tooth. Once I had treated that, the world stopped spinning.

My sisters boyfriend suffers from vertigo all the time. He is so severe he passes out. Something to do with his ears. He has medication, but he will always have this problem. Luckly he has symptoms before he has an attack, so he can prepare.

Go get checked out by your doc.

This happened to me once and the doctor told me to start drinking water right away, it can be caused by dehydration. If this doesn't work in a few hours (with rest), go see a doctor.

Make sure it's pure water, boiled and drunk warm is probably most easily absorbed by your system, otherwise filtered room temp is probably okay.
