Quite right.
It's when they look at you, smile without thinking about it, or even realising it, and it touches the corners of their eyes, then they mosey on by. It's that unguarded moment of honesty let loose, and the honesty reaches in to you so gently and so warmly.
*That* is when the heart grows fonder.
If only they knew it, eh?

I don't think it is absence either, maybe mutual respect and genuine laughter.Of course true affection for the person.

I don't think it is, but rather....feeling close to someone in spite of their absence....maybe that's the same thing, I don't know :)
