I think this is a question without real answer.

There will always people who say you can do with your life what you want - but I believe we are limited somehow in our possibilities (where, when we are born, who are our parents, what education do we get, ...)
On the other side, we still have to possiblity to choose for a certain lifestyle within these limitations. You can make up your own mind, and try to live the life you want.

The big question stays: does destiny control our actions or do we control our future by our actions? Do we do the things we do, because we want to, or because we were meant to?
Is there a special reason for our being here on this world, and if so how can we find it?
I suppose life is a quest in finding your own special reason. And in a way you make your destiny what you want it to be. Some are happy with a 9 to 5 job and a family, others want a whole lot of more in life. Why? Beats me... but it makes people interesting. If everyone was alike, life would be extremely boring...

Faith, destiny, or just coincidence... we will never know - unless we invent a timemachine to go back in time and try another option, and see if we end up in the same situation... Only then we will know if destiny really exists or if it's just a fantasy of our wonderful mind...

YES!

^^

It is our destiny to chose our destiny but some peoples destiny is to be goofballs and puppets to other peoples decisions because: destiny is created by the personality of a person...that doesnt change no matter how old the person is.

What you are at 7 you are at 77. (old Turkish proverb)

If it's our destiny, then it can't really be called choice. It might feel like we're choosing, but everything would be pre-determined and we could never do otherwise.

So we either choose our future or live out our destiny. You can't mix the two.

Choosing destiny is the biggest cop-out.
If I'm compelled to choose destiny, I'm not choosing anything-- I'm compelled.

You don't choose destiny, destiny chooses you.

To some extent...yes. However, anyone who thinks that they can control their destiny completely, is only fooling himself.
