It is called continual medical supervision as there is no telling what kind of withdrawals you are going to have to go through.
Quitting on your own apparentlly hasn't worked for you or you wouldn't be going to a rehab. so I doubt you have what it takes to even make it through a 12 step program at this time.
To try to quit in a 12 step program you have to be willing to be willing, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes to stay clean, you have to change people/places/things,and you have to want to be clean more than you want to be high and I don't think you are ready for that just right now.
After detox in a rehab. and you get your head cleared up and can think clearer they will start to teach you the basics of the 12 step program so that when you leave the rehab you will know what to do and how to stay clean and sober one day at a time.
Now just because you get off of cocaine/meth/crystal etc does not mean you only have a drug problem. . .you have an alcohol problem. . a drug is a drug,is a drug be it narcotics or alcohol. . .they lead right back to the inital problem so you will have to also stay away from alcohol.

I don't know what kind of thing appeals to you. Some programs are based on the 12-step system, some are based on "rational recovery". Some can explain in detail exactly what happens in your brain to make you crave drugs and why you act the way you do when you get them. They don't call it "chemical dependency" for nothing. There is an actual chemical and physical reason for what's going on. Once you see that, it takes the mystery out of it and you can deal with it a lot better. They can help you work up a definite plan for dealing with it while you're in AND out of the program. I hope you do it. Good luck!

Many people who have the inner desire to quit drugs are successful in doing so by taking Yoga breathing classes.
Send me your email and I will send you a slide show on how to improve your health.
