Lag often refers to delays experienced in computing communications, however it may also apply to written or other forms of communication.

Within computing, Lag refers to the time taken for a packet of data from the sending application to the receiving application. This includes both transit time over the network, and computer processing time at both the source and destination computers.

Whilst in the strictest sense every packet experiences lag, the term lag is implied to refer to noticeable delays to the user caused as a result of extended or unexpected delay. As the time taken for a packet to travel from a server in Europe to a client nearby in the same region is likely to differ from a trip from Europe to the Americas or Asia, it is possible that two users may experience connections to the same server with a different extent of network lag.

Lag can be caused by several things. It is just when your computer is moving slow. They may be able to tell because they don't get your messages as soon as you send them. It could be your internet service, you may have too many programs running, or you might just need to reboot. Some computers are just slower than others and there is not much you can do besides buy a new computer.

You suppose to be first but u are lagging behind in 5th or 6th place. Generally to fix it is to disable any programs that u dont use or install them. Disable any programs on startup and then defragment. Normally i wud do over my computer so everything will be clean and good performance. Laterz.

Lag...means slow in general and there are a lot of factors that affects the speed of how your computer operates. Basically there are lots of ways to improve the performance by tweaking the OS and running accelarator software. This is just the software part. The rest depends on the nature of your hardware.

A system restore to an earlier time will not fix the problems with the OS freezing or being slow. Corrupt system files or virus/spyware/malware problem is causing it to freeze you need to use a set of system recovery disc to do a system repair or to re install a new original operating system. Go to safe mode (press F8 at start up) and back up any thing of importance before it crashes for good or doing a system repair or install.

You must be a gamer. Lag in games can be caused by the machine itself or by the quality of the connection you have to the game server.

There are many issues. Video drivers, network settings, ram, processor speed, even the version of the game itself.

More details might help.

What your friends are trying to imply is that your computer isn't that great, they don't think it's as good as you do.
