Hi Dear Rain ;

■ Step 1
154 / 2 = 77 { 2 * 77 }
77 = 7 * 11 { 2 * 7 * 11}
so 154 = 2 * 7 * 11

■ Step 2
252 / 2 = 126 { 2 * 126 }
126 / 2 = 63 { 2 * 2 * 63 }
63 = 9 * 7 { 2 * 2 * 9 * 7 }
9 = 3 * 3 { 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 7 }
252 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 7

■ Step 3
154 = 2 * 7 * 11
252 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 7
the greatest common factor of 154 and 252 is 2 * 7 OR 14

all ppl are correct

Do this by finding the prime factorization of 154 and 252, and comparing...

154=2*77=2*7*11
252=2*126=2*2*63=2*2*7*9=2*2*7*3*3

Comparing the two, we see that both have a two and a seven, so the greatest common factor of the two is 2*7=14

Factor 154 and you get 2*7*11
Factor 252 and you get 2*2*3*3*7
the common factors between the two are 2*7
so the greatest common factor is 2*7=14

154 / 2 = 77

77 / 7 = 11

11 / 11 = 1

- - - - - - - - -

252 / 2 = 126

126 / 2 = 63

63 / 3 = 21

21 / 3 = 7

7 / 7 = 1

154 = 2 x 7 x 11
252 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 7

The greatest common factor is 2 x 7 = 14

prime factoring both the numbers
154/2=77/7=11/11=1
so 154=2*7*11
252/2=126/2=63/3=21/3=7/7=1
252=2^2*3^2*7
so the GCF=2*7=14
