nowdays everything is considered as art do you think that an abstract video

made in two minutes, can be considered art i made the experience, everyone said " hu well its very good " but i think it's bullshit what are your impression and your opinion

Does not appeal to me in the least and I would not call it art.

I remember I watched a segment on the news once where they had some art critiques try to distinguish between contemporary art and scribbles by a couple of 6 year olds.
They tried to play it off when they were wrong by saying stuff like the child obviously had a 'fine eye for color' and 'excellent taste in texture'. And that made it kind of sad.


I just don't get it, mostly.

A lot of contemporary art is just crap, but some of it is quite good. Also, it's important to remember that artists don't make their work for other people--they make it for themselves. It's a more private experience than most people might expect.

You can call anything "art" these days as long as you can talk enough shite about what it represents and how symbolic it is of blah!

these days you can fart in a gallery and call it ironic impressionism and you will be applauded. we've lost all perspective on what makes art ART.
