I am 17 and I've had a few jobs that required dressing professionally. The trouble is that I'm 5'0 and I'm having the hardest time finding things that don't make me look like a little girl playing dress-up. The sleeves on the jackets and blouses are always too long for me. I have big breasts and narrow shoulders, so blouses are either baggy in the back or bursting open at the front. What would you recommend? Short people, what do you wear to work?

I'm a small person too (4'10!), and the trick is to shop at petites stores. Don't go for blouses- they usually WILL make you look like a little kid playing dress-up. I wear simple, black cashmere shirts, and pencil skirts that hit right above the knee, you can pull this off, trust me, you want to make your legs look LONGER. The skirt should be in a color other than black, with a nice print, to compliment the simple and bold black shirt. Wear high heeled pumps (the pointy toe thing) , in a color that matches SOMETHING in your outfit. With your narrow shoulders, poufy cap sleeves will work for you.

I agree with the petite section shopping.

I am not short, I am about 5'8 .. but one of my friends is about your height. She wears mostly slacks and suit pants. She tends to stay away from skirts much because we both have noticed that it tends to make you look even shorter. She also has the same problems with the jackets, so she goes with sweater jackets instead.

Hope this helps!

Its somewhat unprofessional. The purple and pink prepare is something in keeping with possibility for like somebody in 6th or seventh grade. And the belt and tights would not seem that super with all of it mutually. It would not fairly say lecturers or expert it says like purely a widespread teenage lady in keeping with possibility that white shirt and a black skirt or some black pants might seem somewhat greater expert. in keeping with possibility even some black shoes. Then the belt ought to flow somewhat greater useful with the outfit. wish this helped!
