No it is dangerous for anyone to inhale paint fumes but definietely not good for a pregnant woman to inhale any. It can cause many birth defects.

I wouldn't suggest it... you shouldn't be doing a lot of climbing, so ladders are out of the question. However, if you're in a really well-ventilated room and you're just painting below your shoulder-level, you might be okay. Just try not to lift your arms over your head for an extended period of time, and don't climb onto anything.

But once you start, be aware that certain fumes can OVERWHELM you when you least expect it. I'm at 21 weeks, and a couple of weeks ago I decided to do some furniture refinishing. BAD IDEA. I had dizzy spells, and my blood pressure actually spiked because of the fumes. A few days later, I was back to normal. But it was scary. I'm not sure about the effects that the fumes themselves would have on the baby, but they can really send you in a tailspin if you aren't careful. Don't paint alone. Make sure someone else is with you at all times.

If you have someone else that can do it for you, let them. But if you really want to just do what I did. I painted the baby's room when I was about 6 or 7 months pregnant, but I made sure both windows were open and I had a fan in there to ventilate plus I wore a mask. Also, about every 15 minutes I walked outside to get some fresh air then went back in to paint. If you do this you should be ok.

A pregnant woman should not paint or be anywhere near it. The paint fumes are very bad for the baby, and may make her naucious. Have someone else do it and go shopping for the day. Make sure it is well ventilated and don't sleep there for a couple of days if the fumes are strong.

It's fine if you're using the right paint and in a well ventilated area. When I was pg with both my girls I painted. I Actually did alot of painting because I paint murals. I always made sure I had someone to do the painting up high and wore a mask. If you're really concerned ask the dr...and if your dr says no, then don't do it. Best of luck to you!!!

Yes, as long as it is latex-based it's fine. Do not use oil based paints. It omits a strong chemical oder that is not safe.
