Illegal may not be the proper word. Against company policy and unethical are better. File a complaint with the credit unions "home office". If you file a complaint with the branch at which they work, it may get covered up. Just call and ask which branch location is considered the "HQ" building

Yes it is illegal for an employee to discuss your banking transactions. I would address this to the branch manager and to the board. If neither of these reacted responsibly I would contact the state agency responsible for banking in your state.

If you have it as a fact, i.e. you can prove it, then his/her manager or manager's manager is the chain of command that you can escalate for this violation of client's confidential information. If you do not get your satisfaction in your trust being violated, go up the chain until you are satisfied. Do have your evidence.

go to their immediate supervisor and gently threaten ( he, she) with a fat lawsuit...request that the worker be fired at once for doing that....
