I do, but its not just Republicans. Clinton had a big hand in the Echelon program. The both parties would like to micromanage every aspect of our lives, and knowing about every aspect is a start.
BTW, did you know that many government officials refuse to get any email accounts? I wonder why.

One very possible wonderful outcome with surveillance growing everywhere is that BIG BROTHER won't be able to hide from US anymore, either. All 300 million of us in the States will be watching the every move of our leaders in government and business. Soon, no more secrets. WE are watching Big Brother.

I have believed that since before the invention of the PC and internet.
It's been coming for a long time. Take heart that most of us are not important enough to bother with...

The illusion of freedom is what we have been told to keep the masses under control.

I hope big brother is watching. I feel safer knowing this. Yes we are loosing some of our freedoms like lighting up a cigarette after a good meal in a restaurant.

I believe it and if the Republicans remain in power, we'll all begin to believe it. I just hope the first one they get is one of these red-necked neo-cons who think that government conspiracies don't exist.

Big Brother is watching, but that is the reason we have the freedoms that we do have. Name one freedom that you have lost!

I have nothing to hide. Even if I was a drug dealer or a murderer the current patriot act and other new laws could not be used against me. My trial would be declared a mis-trial. Though I do oppose the government when it comes to telling me I have to wear a helmet and wear my seat belt even though i do anyway.
