Now this is already the cause of several disputes between me and the neighbours (we were ok before they bought the dog) but now I am reaching the point that my patience is wearing thin.

The dog (a huge and extremely loud German Shephard) is always kept outdoors in their garden and just constantly barks. If I want to relax in the garden I am constantly disturbed by the barking and the occasional snarls. I have tried reporting to the council but they won't do anything. Even during the nights it would bark. I even tried to visit the neighbours to meet the dog but I was attacked!

It is costing me sleep and I found it extremely difficult to study with the constant racket. What should I do? Should I pursue a legal case against the neighbours?

PS: I would appreciate answers from anyone with a good knowledge of laws and/or council regulations in the UK!

you can definitely call the cops and ask them to talk to your neighbor.

It would help if you talked to a few other neighbors to see if they're bothered as well.

You could try contacting the local SPCA or animal welfare group. Animal rights and animal lovers really don't like animals being kept outdoors especially in very cold weather. Call each group and express concern about the dog's welfare at being chained out in bad weather.

lol, I couldn't get past the first sentence.

Keep the dog out of the bedroom!

------

If you mean peace, tape record the dog barking for a while, then at 4 am, take the tape player and place it by the owners bedroom window and play it, and go back to bed.
