the real question is why do we still turn the clocks forwards? daylight savings time is an hour off the "real" time when the sun is supposed to be directly above you at 12 noon. so things are normal again for now. i think it has something to do with why we do lots of archaic stuff in this country -- we make up traditions and think they are for our own good when its logically kind of stupid.

They tried to stop this years ago but discovered that not only was it dark early in the evening it was dark in the morning so school children went to school in dark and home dark. One of the biggest reasons it was reinstated was it had a huge effect on crops/environment/animals especially in the farming community.
It completly distrupted the world as a whole especially the envioronment so it was reinstated.

because it used to be that kids could walk to school with it being such a nice day but since winter is coming no one wants to walk in the cold so they don't have the walking anymore and put back the time back for no other use for it.

so the kids wont be going to school in the dark and so we can have longer day light hours in the summer.
