When money dictates the entirety of the human mentality. When people take to believing that their money is the only thing they have and/or need in life. It becomes the standard by which all things are compared and contrasted, you lose your humanity. You become dependent on the social stance and standard associated with money, and you feel the need to constantly get it whether it is a direct necessity or not. In such a case you are incapable of functioning without it, but you can't stop getting it. You have lost your individuality, the money no longer works for you, instead you are enslaved by your riches.

If you mean riches as in wealth, my opinion is along the following line.
A person's well-being has very little to do with ones wealth. Whereas, relationship has a lot to do with ones well-being. When one lets one's wealth or the desire to accumulate to run one's life than the other way round, then it becomes detrimental. This is especially so when ones relationship with others is based solely on ones wealth and not love.

When misuse overtakes that person knowingly or unknowingly the latter's well being is affected. He becomes a slave. This ranges from small to big things - from telling lies, being arrogant, being careless about others' feelings, feeling self sufficient(deceit), feeling above others, taking toxicants and the like, when miserliness become his way of life.., - feeling in other words everything is possible irrespective of whether it is good or bad to the extent that one loses its identity and at the same time mislead others. The writing of the evils of money could be endless.

When they become the person. Having money is a luxury most people don't have, and is usually viewed with a negative stereotype. If money takes over someones life, and that's all they chase, and all they talk about, etc, it becomes harmfull to there well being becuase they have stopped living life in a sense.

In the society we live in a persons riches will always determine a persons well being. I don't believe that's the way it should be. Our society judges people based on wealth. The more money the better you are even if u you are emotionally bankrupt.

when they believe everyone around them owes them. or when they can't trust thier friends anymore.
or when they can have almost anything so they go after things they should not, because a sense of want is what makes us human.
