1: It would be a major Headache for the Government to monitor who is following this and who is not.
2: Many parts of the country are not so cold in winters ; especially areas in South - Karnataka,Kerela etc . There it won't make much difference to implement DayLight Savings . And it is very difficult to have DayLight Savings in some parts of India and not having them in other parts .
3: Who cares when there are so many other issues before us in India . Why not talk about Following Traffic Regulations ; Lane Driving and Protesting against Corruption in Public Services ?

Most countries that are close to the Equator do not use daylight savings time because there is not a large difference between sunset/sunrise times in summer and winter. I am currently located on the island of Curaçao, in the southern Caribbean; there is no daylight savings time here either.

Time change has it's own problems in the West...ironical given the fact that it was meant to help the farmers and the agriculuralists... a means of consrving energy...but on the other hand the evenings have become very short and people waste the same amount of energy or even more on putting on lights say by 05.00 pm...it also has a disturbing effect on children who hae long long summer evenings in front of them...as the sun sets at about 22.00 hrs and in winters they have long nights to cope with as by the time the school ends say by 17.00 hrs it already dark...Indian does not need to follow it...maybe we could have two time zones one for the East and one for the West...ask our Eastern counterparts when the sunrises at about 04.00 am in the moring in Far East and sets at about 05.00 pm...
