There is no "coming battle of survival." There is only the survival or elimination of species. If we systematically remove ourselves from the equation somehow, there are plenty of species that could take over. Odds are that there wouldn't be one species to replace us. Without us, the natural world would return to a more level field of major predatory species and lesser species. Tigers, lions, bears, and major predatory reptiles would reclaim their spots at the top of the chain.

If there is any battle going on, it is within the human mind;
aggression & fear reaction vrs. respect & cooperation.

So far the results don't look very promising.

Humans have alot of untapped potential.
Whether it will remain untapped as the planet becomes uninhabitable & they fight each other for the shrinking available resources remains to be seen.

Yes, the large animals, the insects, the bacteria, all will be almost as before if there were no more humans.

May it not come to that.

;-)

...roaches? Nah. Sure they can survive the worst of radiation because of their physical built. But their lack mental capacity and inability to think critically will fail them. In other words they are not smart.

...to win the survival battle, you need more a lot more than titanium shell or skin. You need brains.

Charro. I'm pretty sure she is already four hundred years old and can survive anything other than a direct hit.

best bet should be insects and bacteria..there are just way too many of them to wipe out..

Fishes could survive well in the depths of ocean uninterrupted

I don't share your "coming battle" thing....but, insects and bacteria will hang in there for a long time.
