I am 19 and I used to trick or treat when I was like 17 still. I went with a group of friends. It is fun. They are probably more into it for the fun of being with friends then the candy. This might help, with the older ones just ask them about there costumes or ify ou see a costume you know say soemthing. I was the girl from the matrix when I 16 or 17 and this guy was like i know who you are. it kinda made my night. Everyone after that was complimenting it. Trust me they will enjoy it. Plus they have some creative costumes. Makes the passing out candy kinda cool. The best part is looking at the costumes. Enjoy it.
If they look older dont give them candy. I mean like 18+. That is just stupid. People that old should be at a party not trick or treating.
Enjoy passing out candy. Here is a plus side. Passing it out to the older kids also prevents leftover candy if your the type who dont like to eat it. Just enjoy it. It only comes once a year.

Halloween is supposed to be a fun time of the year for people of ALL ages. What's wrong with having fun? Is there an age limit for participating in trick-or-treating? Be thankful they aren't breaking into your house or carjacking your next door neighbor.

Well I figure everyone is trying to enjoy the day.. if I could get away with it I'de dawn a suit and go trick or treating too but it's just too embarasing for me now.. would have to have a child on my arm. Just tell them you don't have enough for them or ask if they have a brother or sister with them. You could be honest or just go along with it but if it bothers you that much maybe look out the window and just don't open the door lol...
Yeah I agree pretty much with everyone above and SHAYNA... good point.

I am willing to give candy to anyone who is willing to put on a costume and shout trick-or-treat. I really don't care how old they are.
But if they don't bother to put on a costume I don't open the door.

I don't mind the older kids who dress up and seem to be having fun. I object to the 16-18 year olds who DON'T dress up, DON'T say "Trick or treat," and DON'T say thank you. They just stand there holding out a pillow case and glaring at me.

I've felt for years that12 is the age limit, but after reading your respondants' input, I've changed my mind. This year I'm going out of town on H'wn night, but next year, I'll be ready for everybody. I like the part about having them dance or do something, that's gonna' be fun.

Even though they may have the body of an adult, they are still kids & enjoy doing kid things. This may be their last chance to go out & kick up their heels so let them have at it - god bless their little pea picking hearts. I'm planning to dress up to go to the office - give them a little reminder of what it's like to be young (or at least young at heart!).

I would rather have them at the door having fun than in a parking lot vandalizing cars. I'm 58 years old and diabetes is all that keeps me in.

I am thankful that they are out collecting candy and having clean fun...they could be on the streets causing trouble or doing drugs. Give with love and gratefulness. All we have, God has given us, we should give with love.
