It doesnt matter that you dont really believe - just be careful - there are a lot of charltans out there who will just try to trick and fleece you. Be on your guard for phishing! Just sit there, be open minded, but dont give anything away ok. I believe there are real mediums who do have a sixth sense, but thier gift i believe is to provide evidence to us of the afterlife and not predict the future/fortune for us. In a nutshell, go if you would like to give the opportunity to a loved one to comunicate with you. Before you go to your reading, subconsiously send a little thought to who you'd like to come through, you never know if thier spirit is around and listening! Its good that you got the medium through personal recommendation, thats a good start. Be prepared for the possibility that someone else who knows you and has already passed over may come through for whatever reason. Whatever happens, if someone does come through to you, you should have, at the end of the sitting, definate proof, because they will come out with information that only you and them could possibly have known about, then you can judge for yourself. As for avoiding mediums because they are dabbling with the dark side - i think of it this way - when you lose someone you truly love, proof of afterlife can help immensly in the grieving process, and can help heal some of the pain you feel. Get some books from the library and read up on spirituality, this may help explain it better. I hope your sitting is a good experience for you anyway. All the best.

The medium is getting the information from somewhere. Your four acquaintances are only aware of one path for that information to get through, which is that the dead are passing on the information which only the dead relative, etc , the living contactor and very few others (certainly not the medium) are aware of. There are other ways. Is the information you talk about really all that detailed? If not, it might just be verbal trickery. The medium might be skilled at pumping their customer for information in a way that the customer is unaware of. My advice is don't go.
If the information is very detailed, accurate and private, then the medium may be getting their knowledge from the demons who have been around a long time and have made it their business to know as much about everyone as they can.
Mediums are not necessarily what they say they are.

Mediums work by making people who want to believe they're talking to spirits believe it.
For instance, a medium will begin by asking the person's name. They will then 'contact' that spirit and say they are in a good place. Then, they might come up with some seemingly elaborate details, such as "he said not to fight over money." The listener will somehow find this to be true, though money is commonly an issue after someone's death, assuming they believe in mediums and the like, and possibly give the medium more personal information by trying to ask the deceased a question.
Mediums manipulate people's emotions for money, and should not be trusted at all.

I believe totally. Im not a nutter or been influenced by anyone elses opinion either. Contact Katie Coutts in "THE SUN" newspaper. Im sure its a Monday and thursday. I visited her 6yrs ago at her home and was well impressed. If you dont live in Scotland, then her e.mail ad is in the paper and also her home phone number. She asks that you send a photo of yourself with your eyes showing clearly and if you need to know about a particular person, then send a pic of them to. Her analysis of me was spot on, sadly there are a few things she suggested that I didnt go ahead and do and I know it was a mistake. But, she was right all along and Im just putting them into practice now but I've wasted a few years when I should have done it all years ago!!!! Good luck.

I expect that some mediums truly believe they can.
My personal belief is that they are cynical opportunists. People who go to see them to help them contact their "dearly departed" are vulnerable and will interpret anything they hear as significant. If you are happy and lucky enough not to be lonely and missing someone are unlikely to be looking for the kind of "help" on offer from mediums. Save your money and your time. Concentrate your love and your efforts on those whom you love while they are still near you.

I dont believe in the ones on telly like Derek Acorah, he seem like hes full of crap! He never talks properly to the spirits.
I'd love to talk to a medium, contact some family members to see if its a load of bollocks or not.
Give it a go whatve you got to lose.

i'm not exactly sure, but you really need to be careful. Those mediums and other things are dabbling in dark arts, they are very real, and you can be haunted by real spirits. don't close you're eyes to the very real spiritual battles of this world! I will be praying for you.
