don't get your bellybutton pierced, you mom is right, nobody is going to see it and I hear that they get infected easily, plus I also hear that it hurts a lot to get done.

I pierced my bellybutton when I was 30, because that's when the bellybutton piercing phase started for me. I would only take it out if I'd get too fat to wear it. At the moment it's not stylish to show your belly anyway, and it sometimes it heals a little slow. Best to do it in the summer, heals faster then. I think it's better on the bellybutton then anywhere else, so I support u do it, but please never pierce your face, because it looks weird when once you get older, ok?
I have read through the other answers, so I'd like to add that smart girls are better then sexy girls, but you can be sexy and smart - if you are. sex can wait, I'm sure u know that, so better to have belly pierced instead.
There is no such things as positive or negative about it. You do it, you know it will hurt, so it will, you want it so you deal with the consequences. It's only fair. If that's what you want, then you know why you want it, so be honest with yourself and see if you need it.
love,
sissy
This is what I'd tell my daughter, but I am younger then your mom, and she's all right too, but she might be worried about infected needles and stuff... Let her go with you. Get her involved. That would be cool.

Please do as your mom asks. All my daughters got their bellybuttons pierced and they all took them out and don't wear them. They were 18 when they did it as I told them once they become adults they could make their own decisions. The piercing hurt, then got infected, and they didn't wear shirts that showed their bellies. That's the point of having it done right? Girls have their bellybutton pierced to look cool and be noticed by guys. If there were no guys I doubt any girl would have that done. So, I really can't think of any positives to getting it done...unless you want a boy to see it so he will think you're sexy. When you become a mom one day, you will hope your daughter respects your opinion. So, start by respecting your moms. She deserves it.

Well 15 is a little young right now not to defend u or anything. The phase thing is kinda of odd for her to say but shes a mom i guess. Wait till ur a little older if ur mom objects then find something to do. It's either get belly button peirced or NOT get it?

to be honest..i think you r too young. i was 18 when i got mine done. there is nothing positive about it. it's just something you have an option to do. i got it done because i was 1) mature enough to be able to wear more revealing tops and 2) to me it was a form of self expression. i don't think it's a phase but i think it's something you should wait for. i have seen so many 15 year olds with piercings walking around wearing less clothes then i am. i think it's something to represent your not afraid of your sexuality and love of ones body. at your age the last thing you should be worried about is looking sexy or sexuality. enjoy being young and not rushing into everything. it's easier said then done but believe me....being an adult is hard. and when u get older you will wish u were young again. i think you will be glad if you wait till your 18. you will be able to show it off more and at least you will be mature. thats my personal opinion. i have been there and done that...take it from me. just wait.

Positive -
Looks good if you have a flat stoumach.
Negative -
Hurts a LOT
Can get infected
Costs quite a bit depending on where you get it done
Can look horrible
Personally, I wouldn't but if you really want to then have a go and see how it turns out.

I'm 11 and I think it would be cool but when you think about it it really wouldn't because you only think girls do it. They really don't and when you get older can you see a grandma wearing a belly button ring? Here is the positive: It would be something I would want to do but your body is sacred like a temple of god. Would like to grafiti the temple? That's what I always think. I know you don't want to here that! Sorry!

I say DEFINITLEY get it done! I got mine done, and even though it hurt like hell, I'm still glad I got it. It's really cute, and people do it if you're wearing a belly shirt or a swimsuit in the summer. And if you don't like it, you can just take it out and let it close up... It's not permanent
