I am looking at buying a new Lenovo laptop and i'm looking at two different models and was wondering which you think i should go with:

ThinkPad R60e - $969.00
Intel® Core Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz)
15" XGA (1024x768)
80GB, 5400rpm SATA
CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo
6 Cell 2.4Ah Lithium-Ion

ThinkPad T60 - $1,154.00
Intel® Core 2 Duo™ T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB)
14.1" XGA (1024x768) (and should i bump it up to the sxga+ with better res?)
100GB, 5400rpm SATA
DVD Recordable Dual Layer Ultrabay Slim Drive
9 Cell Lithium-Ion

*Rest of the parts are the same*

This is mostly a work computer so word working on the airplane and that kind of stuff are my main tasks, no gaming or photo editing on this one. I am mostly concerned about performance and longevity, but aesthetics do play a part. Thanks for the help..

Well it is obviously that the second laptop will have better performance. But I also think it will have around 2 hours of battery life. And the first one is like mine except I have Z60m laptop and it has a battery life of more than 4 hours when surfing and working in word and that kind of programs. But when working with Visual Studio or graphic it goes more than 3hours.

PS. The great thing on IBM is UltraBay. You can eject your DVDRom and buy another battery or HDD and put it in there. And also you can buy travel battery so I think with IBM you have longevity.

Personally neither, there are a lot more laptops out there for similar values that are better performers and offer more bang for the buck. Look around, talk to the sales people etc.....

Hello. For what you say you are needing to do with this laptop, I would get the first one... the R60e. It would be different if you were gaming or photo editing, but you are not, I would just get the first.
