Our species is parasitic. We are parasites. We are not viruses. We are humans. Humans are different than viruses. We are however parasites. We are destroying each other and our planet.

To some species, yes, we are like a virus out of control but to others, we are their salvation.

It all depends on what point of view we take. Just for fun, list the number of "beings" that would not exist if it were not for humans, then list the number that cease to exist because of humans.

If you are not too pessimistic, you will see that we have as many new species flourishing as we do those growing extinct. For every negative, there is a positive. For every up there is a down, for every day, there is a night. It all balances out.

Yes, there is death but there is also new birth...figure everything into the mix and you'll see that humanity isn't all that bad and when it does seem bad, the pendulum swings to the other side eventually.

You ask a question and then ask not to have the correct answer!
Of course humans are not like a terrible virus. We were given responsiblity to look after the planet. That is dominion, not so say preservation in some supposed idyllic pre-human state, but to use earth's resources wisely.
Obviously we do not always act wisely.

do you have too much time on your hands? And I don't think there is anyway that we'd be able to rule this out. For all we know, there are superior civilizations out there.
