i got mines done when i was 18. the process is fairly simple. you go in and the man sits you down. he draws two dots on you sketching where the piercing will be. they usually lay you down or have u stand up and they use a long piercing needle to pierce through the skin. afterwards the ring is put in and antibiotic is applied. it doesn't hurt when the piercing first happens...it just feels sorta odd. to me though it hurt after it got done. it wasn't serious wrenching pain or anything but it definitely felt like someone had cut through a part of my belly button. it hurt for about two days. and everytime it would get caught on my shirt or anything touched it it would still hurt. i waited about a month to chnage rings which hurt also. my piercing ended up getting infected not too long after ( which happens very often with belly button piercings). that probably hurt the worst. it often becomes sore and fills with pus. it's very disgusting. i cleaned it everyday but still don't know what caused it. the answer is yes it does hurt. it is a piece of metal being stuck onto your body! i got a tattoo on my back this year which hurt less. in fact didn't hurt at all. but be aware that if u get it done, get it done somewhere well known and sanitary. and clean it well each day with rubbing alcohol. avoid touching it and spreading germs to it with your fingers. and my personal tip wait at least two to three months b4 changing the ring. it helps with avoiding an infection. also make sure the ring u wear is safe for you, certain people are allergic to various metals. good luck.

I got mine done when i was 12 (im 15 now).. honestly on a scale of 1-10, it was probably a 3 .. and i am TERRIFIED of needles. Dont be too worried about the pain, if you keep expecting it to hurt like hell, it probably will, just go there and get it done without even thinking about it. My friend told me to do this and i didn't even notice the piercing was already done. If you're really concerned about the pain, you can pay extra to get your belly button numbed so you wont feel it as much. I'm not sure how much it would cost though coz i dont know where you're from hahaha but its not too much. Also, make sure you go to a reliable piercer, go to a place that is recommended by other people like your friends if they got their's done there because you know it will be reliable. If the piercer does it with a gun, LEAVE. Piercing guns are incredibly unsafe, even on ears. Hope this helped (: good luck xx

I agree with most of what playboyprincess6904 said, but mine didn't hurt at all really. I got it done 4 months ago when I was 16 but havent changed it yet. When they put the needle in, it hurts for maybe a second. The feeling of being "hurt" comes from fear. It is a very weird feeling and takes a bit to get use to the feeling of having something in your belly botton. Honestly, I would get one and you should be fine! Be VERY careful to not get it caught, when you get something caught on it then it hurts. But as long as you are careful, and you clean it.. you should be fine! Good luck :)

no it does not hurt when you get it pierce it hurts after the first day and a few days after. You have to remember to clean it everyday with bactine or peroxide and also warm oil helps.I have mine pierce for about 3 years now. Sometimes i take it off for a whole week and can put it back in fine.
Take good care of it and it will heal and you won't have any problems and also it doesn't hurts that much.

hi guys i would just like to say you are going to be worried for nothing i was so nervous before i got my belly button pierced, i am 13 and i got mine done like 5 weeks ago. i was constantly looking up does having your bely button pierced hurt and after i got it done i felt so stupid coz honestly i didn t feel a thing. the lady told me to lie back (at this point i was very scared) i looked away as she told me to breath in before she put the needle through. about 2 seconds later she said right done and i didn t even know she had put it through yet. to be honest the worst part was when she cleaned it afterwards with some antiseptic wips

just remember to keep it clean :)x

they grab a piece of skin above the belly button and quicky put a thick needle through it. I didn't think it hurt that much during the process, but it hurts alot after it is done, for a couple days. I remember that everytime I would even touch it, it would feel sore.

I was 13 when I got mine done. TBH the most sore part is when the needle pierces your skin but then you cant really feel it. I nearly passed out because when I looked down at the piercing after it was done because I saw a drop of blood and I dont really like it. When you're getting it done squeeze something , someones hand for example. Afterwards it's only the stomach muscles/bellybutton area that is sore :) xx

Nope, I laughed. I was so scared to get it done and when she did it I didn't even know it happened. I'm going back for my nose!! yay.
first they clean the piercing area, then they mark the place. next they'll lay you on a piercing table and put the clamp on, next they'll have you breathe in and out then pierce you belly button. Breathing in and out should minimize the "pain" !! GOOD LUCK
