i got this small block chevy 357ci and i have this small 600 cfm holly single pumper on it and its a stock carb and its just holding back the engine u could say. what could i do to this small carb to make it run worth keeping

go to a high performance parts store and buy a high performance carb kit and overhaul it.get a can of carb.cleaner and go to work on it.

buy it dinner and a movie ;) i would put a 800 cfm double pumper you carb sounds like its not enough for the engine, is the engine built or stock? i would upgrade carb, but first you could try to rejet and rebuild it and see if that makes any diff.

wrong carb, wont do what you want it to, not for that size of engine, you need at least holley 650 dubbel pumper or i would recomend a holley 780cfm dual line carb. or a edlebrock 750 cfm

you will need to get a performance kit and then you will need to re-jet the carb, this is trial and error so you may need several sets of jets, they are about 4 dollars a set.
