I don't mean Hendrix, Page, Young, Clapton, etc. I want guitarists who were/are never recognized for their innovation.

I'M PICKING TOM MORELLO! (from Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave) He is so innovative, he can make his guitar make the crazy sounds, yet it always sounds awesome!

Yngwie Malmsteen is a great choice! How 'bout Steve Vai, or Stevie Ray Vaughn?

Rik Emmett from Triumph.

Also, I don't think Steve Howe gets anywhere near the recognition he deserves. He's as good, if not better, than Page or Hendrix.

Ian Moore. He's from Austin, but lives in Seattle now. Awesome guitarist, but hasn't gotten the national recognition that other guitarists have gotten. Watching him play makes me want to go home and do some nasty stuff to my boyfriend!

Eric Sardinias.

A guitar player friend of mine turned me onto him - very bluesy Stevie Ray-ish, I dig it.

He's on myspace.
