Somehow I think someone will have told you before me that it is central Africa where we have all originated from, if you don't believe in evolution then check out the Tower of Babel in the old Testament

Part of the reason for the variety is the founder effect and genetic drift. If you think about a population, then those on the edge are more isolated than those in the middle. So those on the migration front will always have less genetic/language diversity than those left behind in the middle. Just randomly, a few physical/language traits will be concentrated in colonisers (especially if only a few of them jump barriers, like the English channel). So population traits will change fairly rapidly as people migrate further and further away. It's not really evolution, it's just random (but for a few important things like skin colour, evolution would play a part).
Then of course there is the fact that we are very good at telling people apart. So our minds make a big deal out of the differences when really they are small. If aliens came to Earth they would say, "I don't know they all look and sound the same".

Time and distance, the farther you get from the point of origin whether across land or time, the greater you will differ from them the only reason that most languages stay consistent is because the people who speak them stay close and reinforce the use of any standards that the language demonstrates.
Take the Southern Accent, as an example, it is a modified variant on English, but because the South rebelled during the Civil war it generated its own identity, and with only those few years of actual separation it forked the language, and in the last 130 years they have developed their own way of speaking various words. Now imagine that they had won the war and remained a separate nation. It would take the slight variation developed in 5 years and isolate and expand it for 130.
The general consensus is that people started in Africa, but civilization started in what is now Iraq.

First of all we didn't all originate from central Asia. We originate from Africa and then migrated to Asia. It's because of bands and tribes that we didn't all create the same language, but if you go to Africa you will find that the languages between different tribes is quite similar. To your question of features, b/c those bands and tribes migrated to Asia and with the invention of fire move through Europe it is a result of the climate that we have different features. And to answer another question it's essentially all an accident of geography in terms of there being a third world.

I think it's just because we spread out over the globe and developed seperate communities and then societies which each developed their own ways of communicating and culture etc.. It has been proven that even chimps develope their own cultures which are specific to their own community such as using tools or their taste for meat so I don't think it is too far fetched too believe that this is the reason for such diversity amongst humans. Most societies have their own set of behaviours and traditions.

Wherever it came from, It became expanded - with local dialect/slang, new inventions, religions/beliefs.
Some young would have been ostracised before any grunts or language would have been learnt and met to create other tribes who would learn for scratch or from remnants of early knowlege.
Older members could then add their knowlege. With these randomly occuring, we could have different languages eveloving and merging to the present day languages.
I do think the rest is a mix of evolution and inter-breeding. Without much racial awareness.

Haha, well obviously we haven't been around long enough for -major- evolutionary changes among different groups of people. Nobody's going to debate that with you.
We supposedly did originate from Africa and we migrated. The time that humans have been accounted for was ample for the development of different languages and cultures. As soon as you get any sort of isolation of groups, you'll have them developing independent of each other, which can account for differences in appearance and language.

We arent supposed to come from central asia buddy. Have a look at the human geneome project online. Its very interesting.
Language? You dont even speak the same language as your great grangfather. Trust me, we have had plenty of time to evolve our own languages.

because of mutations in our genes...besides the physical aspect is a minute factor in determining differences... we are more than 90% similar in DNA composition with primates...
the united nations once tried to instill a common world language - esperanto. and although some people speak it, it didn't work out the way they wanted. i guess diversity and individuality aid in creating order and unity.

We're not that diverse... everyone has the same chemistry, some basic size, same facial features, same number of digits... need I go on?
Differences like skin colour, nose size etc. are very small differences.
