I'm 31wks pregnant and for the last couple of days have been having diarreah a couple times a day. I have nothing else going on, except some braxton hicks every now and then. Could that alone mean I'm going to have premature labor, or is diarreah common right now??? I've been really regular until now, no constipation or anything, and have a doctors appt. this wednesday, so I'll ask then too but until then anyone know?? thanks

Braxton hicks can cause diarreah and diarreah can cause braxton hicks. Neither is really related to premature labour. Probably you insides are just being mashed by the baby and they aren't happy.

DO drink extra water as dehydration is very bad for you and the baby. Braxon hicks can be a sign of dehydration and diarreah can dehydrate you.

DO take your temperature, infections can cause preterm labour

DO look for signs of premature labour:
* Keep track of your Braxon Hicks closer together than 10 minutes or if the continue for more than 2 hours
* Low abdominal cramping
* More mucus, watery fluid, or loosing part of your cervical plug
* Decreased fetal movement
What Should I Do If I Have Signs of Premature Labor?

Call your health care provider right away if you have:

Leaking of fluid from the vagina
Vaginal bleeding
Sudden increase of vaginal discharge
Lie down, preferably on your left side, and check for contractions if you have any of the following signs of premature labor:

Menstrual-like cramps or abdominal cramps
Low, dull backache
Pelvic or vaginal pressure
To check for contractions, place your fingertips on your abdomen. If you can feel your uterus tightening and softening, you can then record how often the contractions are happening. To time your contractions, at the beginning of one contraction and again at the beginning of the next contraction, write down the time.

If you have contractions every ten minutes or more often that do not go away within an hour after changing your position, relaxing or drinking 2-3 glasses of water, call your health care provider. Also call your health care provider if the warning signs listed above worsen or if pain is severe and persistent

it could turn into premature labor if you are not careful. im 35 weeks and had been having diarrea. well i got dehydrated and it turned into labor two days in a row. they stopped it. just make sure that you are getting plenty of liquids. if your pains are more than 4 in an hour you need to get to the er immediately. at 31 weeks they would definetly stop your labor.
hope you get to feeling better.

I had diarrhea on and off for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. If that is the only symptom of pre-term labor you are having it is probably safe to say it isn't a sign of labor. However, you know your body and if you feel something isn't right call your OB ASAP! Good luck with your pregnancy!

Start drinking Pedialyte or Gatorade. This will prevent dehydration, that may send you into premature labor. Lay on your side as much as possible, and call your doctor. They will let you know if they want to see you. Good luck.

You probably just have a little stomach bug. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. I have never heard of bowel problems being a part of labor. If you go into labor, you will know without a doubt.

I had the same thing it was gross,I had to keep chaning my underwear.I asked my doctor he said it was normal I just wore pantiliners it's gets thicker as your pregnacy goes on due to your slowly losing you mucus plug.if it has a strong smell then maybe you should see your doctor.
