Because even though the great majority of people will stand firm on their present voting intentions, many of them still don't UNDERSTAND the issues. Last night, I talked at dinner with a woman who intends to vote for Missouri Proposition 2 (for mandatory funding of embronic stem cell research). She began to talking about umbilical cord blood, which has nothing to do with embryonic stem cell research. Cord blood, bone marrow, and now even skin and fat are used for ADULT stem cell research. This woman DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE as to the difference. When I mentioned that 65 women have died and 6000 have had medical complications from attempting to harvest embryonic stem cells, she refused to believe it. Doesn't she even read the newspaper?
