It's not wrong if that's what you're happy with, but it could be unhealthy if it's just a substitute for a flesh-and-blood relationship if that's what you would prefer.

They are different things, though, and I'd be scared of getting too connected emotionally with someone I've never met, because people can be very misleading online, or even if they're not deliberately deceitful you could have a false image of them.

It probably won't hurt if it's what you want and you don't need physical love.

You said it yourself, you need to move on and forget him. Virtual relationships are not always what they seem to be. Although you feel that you know and "love" this man, you don't really know what he is truly like. He may have a girlfriend there, he may have a wife!!! Its sooo easy to fake who you are in an online relationship. Also, about the 5 week not contacting you, he may be in trouble, or, his internet might just be disconnected. If he's your bf of 2 years, dont you have a phone number for him so you can call and see to make sure he's ok??? Good luck, and try meeting people in person rather than online, its much easier!

I suppose you could, but the thought of not having any actual physical touch or a face-to-face conversation kind of leaves me cold!
