My dad just asked me what he should get my mom for their 36th anniv. They got married when my mom was 16 and my dad was 19. Just because they loved each other, no other reason. So, 2 kids and 36 years later, here we all are. She isn't really into material things and as far as meaningful jewelry--she has pearls, a new engagement ring, a mothers ring, a mothers neclace..etc....etc....etc..... Any suggestions to help out the old guy??

He could think about 24 or more hours of doing whatever she wants. It might be a surprise for him as well as ladies are a surprise in themself's? Best wishes, I hope they both will be happy for another 36 years. Take care.

ya have the old guy ( and you kids can help too) set up a date for them to exchange there marriage vows and re-new there commitment to each other. If the were married by a minister, or a priest it may take a little time to arrange, but this would be well worth the effort. When my parents did it the whole family got involved and they turned to mush and us kids saw what real true love was all about.

How about he start out with dinner? And maybe you and you other sibling can help him make a scrapbook of memories over the last 36 years. I am sure that is something she would enjoy.

A day at the spa with complete body massage for both of them, great dinner and then a night alone.
Best of luck.

Even though she has jewelry it seems that that has been a good gift in past.
Maybe diamond earrings over a lobster dinner?

(Antiques would be bad)

give the first gift when your mom was 16, just to remind her about their first love.
