Actually, I just read about them. Both parents were part white and part black and one daughter got the white genes from both, hence her skin color. It's pretty interesting and from what the article said is very rare.

This was in the news the other day. There was a girl and boy set of twins born like this. One set in April 04, and one set in July 06. They said the mother and father give the provide 6 genes to the child. 3 of which are used. I guess the black mother was of mixed race, the father white. The genes that were chosen for this child that turned out white got 6 white genes, rather then a mix. My guess is we will see much more of this as time goes on because of the increase of twins and mixed race familys.

Actually, BOTH the father and the mother were half black and half white. Both the father and the mother have black fathers and white mothers. One of the twins got all the white genes, and the other got the black genes. Here's a couple of links to the story.

Normally when mixed races have children the gene that holds the skin color mixes both parents together. The Dr's explained that this is a very rare - these children the gene did not mix, but separate to each of the twins.
Hopefully the world will let the kids grow up in peace and not make spectacles of them.

It's just the heritage of the father, he had white genes and the mother had black in her genes and it was passed on to the kids.

I'm not familiar with the particular story you're talking about, but I do know that it is indeed possible for fraternal twins to have 2 different fathers, if she slept around during the time of conception

well, if the mother let down two eggs that month, and she had sex with a white man and a black man in the same couple of days, each baby could be born from a different father.

I actually found articles about two such twin sets... one of boys, one of girls. I had heard about the girl set recently, the article about the boys is several years older I think.
