Hi!
The internet is the Worldwide network. It is not located in a single PC, but on billions.
However, the internet HAS to be accessed from a suitable source, so, yes, you have to connect to it, through an external wire or antenna (for wireless networking).
Good luck!

Hi
There is no concept call "Internet Ready System". Any computer or a laptop you buy you have to connect it to internet either by Phone Line, Broadband or by Wi-Fi network.
Phone line is usually used for Dial up or ADSL connection, and broadband is used directly by coaxial cables that directly go into the ethernet card and another way of connection is by Wi-Fi network if it is available in your area. If you are from india then right now no city has this facility in india. Except for pune but even there its limited.

depends if you have wireless internet connections in your area. if you do, you can just connect to them, wirelessly. but a quick warning: a lot of wireless internet connecting can enable other people to hack into your system easily and delete files, etc. so if you're using your laptop say.. for school. check with your school to see if they have secure internet connections that they can setup on your laptop.
other than that, if youre talking about setting it up at home. yes, you need a wire :)
