Sweetie this is something that women have been dealing with since the dawn of time. Every girl is different, therefore every girls period is different. You shouldn't worry about the fact that you haven't started yet. You don't need to worry unless you haven't started by the time you are 16. As for hating it? Yes sometimes it's a real pain & at times can be unpredictable. But this is what makes us unique. Only women can go through this. Only women can really understand what it's like. Of course there will be times when you hate it! But not always. Be patient things will happen when they are supposed to.

Ok, don't be nervous, it's a perfectly natural thing and it's not nearly as bad as everyone is telling you.
First of all, everyone is different and so is the length and degree of their period. Some people have mild periods with little or no cramping. Other people have heavier periods with cramps.
My periods lasted for 6 days and the first day or so was heavy. My best friend only had her period for two days and barely noticed it. Your's may be somewhere in the middle.
As far as you starting soon, you probably will but then again, you might not. I started my period when I was 12 and had it until I was 52! My daughter never started until she was 17.
Yes, it's inconvenient. There were times I wanted to go swimming and I couldn't. Sometimes I wanted to wear white pants and I knew it wasn't a good idea!
That doesn't mean it's going to completely change your life or be a terrible burden. It's part of almost every woman's life and most of us have managed to live with it just fine.
I was actually a bit "sad" when I realized that part of my life was over. Go figure, lol.
There's "nothing" for you to do but wait, your body will begin when it's ready. Please don't listen to your "well meaning" friends when they tell you how awful it is either. It doesn't have to be, it's just another part of life.
Hope this helps a bit and good luck.

Your period depends a lot on your state of mind. If you think of it as dirty and gross, like your friends seem to, you probably will feel it is dirty and gross. If you look at it as a sign of being a healthy adult (at least physically) woman, and one of the only things that almost every woman on earth has in common... then it's not.
Don't stress too much about it. It's very natural: just think, at any given moment, probably 1/7 of the adult women you see are menstruating. It is not wrecking their lives. You can't even tell.
As for starting at school, keep a couple pads in your locker or backpack. It is really rare that you would bleed so heavily that you would stain your pants or anything. Your school nurse will also have supplies if you don't have any of your own.

Gosh I remember those days. I was 12 when I had my first period which would have been back in 1961 and I finally quit in 199. 36 years of that stuff. Minus the 9 months that I was pregnant. It is something that every female will encounter. Some have it easy, some have it rough. Talk with your Dr. or health center get some information on it. Everybody is different, and the feelings you have in your body will be changing. I will be thinking of you, take care.

you could start wearing pantiliners now, that way if you start at school..you'll be covered*
keep 2-3 pads in purse or gym locker--just in case.
you may or may not hate having a period...some of us have cramps, some dont.
has mother signed a form with school nurse to administer drugs to you if you need them? when you start, you may want an aspirin or a midol.
hang in there =)

There is nothing you can do. If you're going to get your period, you're going to get your period! Can't be stopped unfortunately! It's a pain, and you probably won't enjoy it, but you won't necessarily hate it. It's a part of life, and you just get used to it. Good luck!

we called it 'autie visit' :) yeah first experiencing it i hate it also, coz seeing blood coming out from your body is quite scary itself.
u have to learn how to use sanitary napkin from ur mom and always carry 1 with you in case if 'emergency'. anyway u r at advantanges since friends around you can tell you their experinces and you can anticipate it by asking to ur mom (since she will give u more accurate answers) dont worry too much and sure you will used to it later on :)
