Definitely they will work hard to lower the rising medicare and housing costs. They will increase social security benefits for senior citizens. They will help to lower inflation, find good ways to end the war, and secure our borders.
Does that answer your question?

I feel their "main thing" is to support the middle class. Democrats are "better" and "have a lot more good in them" than the Republicans. I also feel they will be tougher when it comes to foreign affairs, and not as wishy washy as Bush. This country truly needs the Democrats in office at this time, NOT the Republicans! I do not feel they will be "bullying" the world around, as this administration has. Therefore, other countries will start gaining back their respect for the United States. It is so very important for other countries to "respect" the United States. If they don't have respect for the United States, then it will just be a matter of time before an atomic bomb hits us.
Other countries think Bush is a DUMB *** (which he is)! How can the world respect the United States of America, when we have elected into office as President of the United States a DUMB ***?
Go ahead, "Repubbies," and give me a "thumbs down," while I laugh at your stupidity and arrogance!

While most of the answer you will get from Bush supporters will be some variation of "stay the course" and/or "democrats won't do anything about security", neither of those answers work.
Just as nothing about the current administrations policies has been working.
Hopefully, what the Democrats will do is concentrate on actually protecting America, rather than colonizing oil-rich countries and attempting hegemony around the globe.
Having just 1/2 of those troops back home and assigned specifically to national security on our own soil would
a. serve as a huge deterrence to terrorists
b. keep more of our fellow countrymen/women alive.
c. save us hundreds of billions of dollars over the enormous expenditures projected by the White House itself.

They will repeal the dangerous tax cuts that the Republicans gave us that are responsible for the booming economy, which is bad because people having more money drives up the demand for gasoline, which causes higher prices at the pump, and that one fact alone means the economy is bad. They will fix the problem of the improved economy wrecking the economy.
They will protect us from Global Warming by talking about how bad SUV's are.
They will prove to us that GWB is the Devil by filing Impeachment Papers for saying all the things about Iraq that they were all saying before he was even elected in 2000.
They will support the troops in Iraq by cutting funding for the project, to encourage Bush to bring them home.
They will protect Pages from child predators by encouraging the media not to talk about it anymore, unless it's a Republican predator. Oh, that one doesn't count, they do that already.
Basically they will make America better by the media saying that it's better, creating the illusion that it really is better, even if it isn't.

They will resend the tax cuts for the wealthy. They will also move forward on impeachment. The investigations will be greater than Nixon and Clinton added. BTW, After elections Baker will tell Bush to pull out of Iraq. Read Hillary Clintons plan for Iraq. One thing the Democrats will not do is end Social Security. The Republicans have long wanted to do that deed. Republicans were just waiting til after elections to claim they need the cash for the 2007 spending of $498 billion on defense and $2 trillion for Iraq war.

They'll begin to wind down this stupid war and stop adding to the huge deficit. Maybe we'll actually get comprehensive health care if the Repubs will go along. Expect an investigation of Cheney/Halliburton profiteering on the war and Katrina.
It has to be an improvement over what we have now.

Oh in all kinds of ways. Raising taxes, cut and run policy in the war on terror, more social spending on lazy people and illegals. Continuing to give citizenship to illegal aliens that just happen to be birthed here. Sending more of our manufacturing base out of the country. (just like the Republicans have done for years) Hmmm I wonder if we can outsource the Congress? Oh yea it's called the United Nations. Now there's a bunch of worthless people...

It doesn't matter, what they will accomplish is to stop the incredible amount of debt these jerks (from my party by the way) are running up.
Not due to their genius or any such but by not passing all the CRAP the Republicans are passing. And the Republicans will not pass what ever the Democrats want.

The only way the current crop of democratic candidates can make anything better is to leave. I am a democrat and they are just about the worst slugs that could come forward to run the party, much less the country. Please vote for the lesser of the two evils and vote against these demon-crats this time. Let's wait until they clean up their act and send forth good decent candidates before we vote for them.

Realistically, none. They will concentrate on the 2008 election. Even if they control both houses, the current president has veto power for 2 more years and any purely partisan bills will get squashed.
