the tire sidewal will only show one pressure and that is just the max the tire can be inflated it is not meant in any way to obe the correct pressure to use. Depends on what type of car you have the correct tire pressure is either on the door jamb or inside the trunk lid and someother places or just look in the manual

Max psi on the side wall of the tire is what it can hold at maximum load, not the recommended pressure for the car is most times on the drivers door jamb, glove box or center console lid or last resort for most customers Look it up under specifications in your owners manual. Most cars use 32/36 psi but don't take my word please get the pressure correct. Your car will ride correctly and tires will last longer. And buy a "Milton" pencil type tire gauge for your own. Have a tire store fill the tires correctly with a professional gauge and check it with your new tool. I have seen a great variation of tire pressure tools you might have to buy/test several to find a accurate one.

Refer to your owners manual. I always put between 32psi to 36psi on my tires. The problem is that your tires lose pressure over time because of driving. So, you need to check them about every six months either visually or with a tire gauge ($1.50 at WalMart) Take care.
